When David Davis talks about his life in bluegrass, there’s a quiet passion in his soft-spoken Alabama voice that pulls you right in and makes you listen.

We are very pleased to have Doyle again this year. Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver are vocally one of the best bands on the circuit, with multiple awards to their credit. They have a wonderful mix of bluegrass and gospel that is sure to please even the most discerning ear.

Voted 10 consecutive times “Entertaining band of the Year”  along with approximately another 110 awards...What more is there to say?

Traditional bluegrass at it’s best! Great pickin’ & singin with family harmonies that you can’t get unless your related!

Bluegrass music is now almost 60 years old, and it has become clear that within the music there are only a small handful of major stylists. Larry Sparks is one of the few who has created a style while remaining true to the best traditions of bluegrass.

Nothin’ Fancy                                                  Thursday

This will be Nothin’ Fancys second year here. Always entertaining with great vocals and instrumentation, see them once and you will want to see them again. The most requested band in 2010!

Junior is making a return trip to the festival this year riding high on the success of his latest album “Heartaches & Dreams” with several songs in the top 10 nationwide.

Having come together in Weaverville, NC in late 2008, the duo continues the tradition of two part harmony vocals with acoustic instrument accompaniment once common in the southern United States.

Offering diverse material from their new album “Nights” on Pinecastle Records. Nu-Blu is giving us a glimpse of what’s to come in bluegrass.

Ronnie Reno & Reno Tradition                                        Saturday

A living legend in music & television. The list of people he has worked with and for is literally a who’s who in the music business. You can see Ronnie on RFD TV on his hit show “Reno’s Old Time Music Festival” We are pleased as punch to have Ronnie returning to Pickin’ in Parsons.

My Family was from Elkins, so I just enjoy WV and especially the Bowers family and helpers. That is what made this trip so special. The camp ground is beautiful. We loved everyone here including the people who camped. If the good Lords willing and the creeks don’t rise we’ll see you next year. We fell in  love with Tyler, Katelynn, Caleb, & Kayla.

Pat & Bud Perry, Harrisburg, VA

What others are saying about Pickin’ in Parsons Bluegrass Festival……...

The Hillbilly Gypsies are a West Virginia native string band who specialize in playing their own homegrown style of Appalachian old time music, mixed with a hard drivin' bluegrass sound.
