MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Parsons Revitalization Organization, Inc. is to contribute to the economic vitality of the Parsons area through direct involvement in community and economic development activity as a private organization.

GOALS

Working with present business owners to develop a needs assessment, to assist in increasing revenue and improving property appearance.

Working with owners of vacant properties to recruit types of businesses that could be successful in the Parsons area, thereby creating jobs and stimulating economic growth.

Partnering with other local groups to accomplish common goals.

THE ORGANIZATION

PRO was established on August 20, 2001, as a grassroots community-based non-profit organization. It consists of volunteer private citizens collaborating with members of other organizations, businesses, and government that are concerned with improving the aesthetics and economic climate of the Parsons area.

PRO works to accomplish these goals by soliciting donations, applying for grant funds and conducting fund-raising activities. To reflect the sincerity of the group, there is a “pass the hat” section on each agenda, where members donate whatever amount they are able. In addition, donations have been received from local business owners.

The Executive Committee of PRO, which is comprised of eight members of the full organization membership and three advisors, meets the third Monday of each month. The full membership meets quarterly and receives monthly updates from the Executive Committee via email.
